A new page has been added to our website. About Us is a brief history of Talahi Lake that will be viewed by anyone who visits talahilake.com. I hope that I have it right since I’ve only been here 6 years. If you have anything that you feel should be added or clarified please let me know.
Also, we were surprised to see this large turtle visiting us up at the house. The shell was at least 15 inches long. How fun to live on the lake with the wildlife we have here.

It has always been my understanding that the lake is in fact fed by 3 underground springs. The lake was a supply of dirt for highway 80 and Cecil Dickey dug the lake for Mr. Falligant. Mr Dickey lived on Suncrest on Turners Creek and moved here in 1956. He passed maybe 15 years ago. My recollection is Mr Dickey told me he dug the east side of the lake first and then the west side. He then knocked down the dam. It was never my understanding that the east side of the lake was a natural lake.
