Your board met last night to consider several issues:
First order of business was to welcome Jackie Johnson to the board. Jackie has lived in the lake neighborhood for more than 40 years. As an avid fisherman and a Scarborough Cove resident, Jackie brings a strong knowledge base and a great perspective to our board. Welcome Jackie!
Dues payments – Thank you all for responding so well to our dues invoicing. Your commitment to maintaining our lake today and tomorrow is deeply appreciated. There are still a small number of people yet unpaid. Please get your check to Kim Hickey in person or by mail. Other forms of payment are available if you need them.
Lake maintenance – Estate Management Services continue to treat our lake as contracted. If you have a particular issue, please let me know and I will ask for special attention for your property.
Changing technology and boating – Battery powered technology continues to advance. We are seeing more powerful boats on the lake. Please remember that the lake supports many activities including fishing swimming and boating. Please operate your boat in a manner respectful of all of these activities. Lately, we have seen some boats leaving wakes. The lake is only a mile long. There is no need to go fast enough to disrupt other users and lake property. Lately, we have had several cross ties floating in the lake. Boat wakes can dislodge them. IF YOU have cross ties on your property, please dispose of them properly. Allowing them to float into the lake is hazardous and improper.
We are looking at restoring a past practice of registering all watercraft and stickering them for identification. This will help to identify owners when boats float loose.
Fish restocking – will happen in a couple of weeks. We are adding bream and carp.
Spillway cleanup – John Albright will lead a workday at the end of Jue to maintain our spillway. Your help will be appreciated. With several people, it will not take long. We will post again with a firm date.
Our next board meeting is scheduled for July. If you have questions, comments or concerns, please let us know.
