Lake Stocking

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to let you know that we stocked the lake today.  As we mentioned in the annual meeting last year, we stocked more grass carp and forage.

We will now have about 15 grass carp per acre in the lake.  This is the recommended stocking level for a clean lake like ours.  We will see how the weed growth develops this year and may consider additional stocking.

We also stocked three loads of threadfin shad.  This will serve as additional bass forage and hopefully give our bluegill population a break.  The shad will spawn this summer and add more to the overall population.  Would be great if we can get the bass feeding on top water lures this year.  We shall see.

Special thanks to Ken Christensen for organizing the stocking effort!  See attached videos and pictures!IMG_9029 IMG_9036

Don’t forget to pay your dues now.  They help pay for things like this activity.

Best Regards

  • Thanks for keeping us up to date. A healthy population of fish in the lake makes the lake more enjoyable for everybody. Stocking more Grass Carp is a wise investment. They are an eco-friendly solution for weed control.
