Tom and Katherine took to the lake in their pontoon, armed with a net, towel and some tools.  They spotted the loon and were able to scoop it into the net.  They wrapped it in a towel and the poor bird was so worn out it didn’t put up much of a fight.  Tom said that it was quite a job to cut off the plastic, fishing line and frayed rope from the beak.  It was so tight that the loon couldn’t open it’s mouth.
